The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police issued more than 1.1 million traffic violation tickets during 2025, collecting around Rs1.1 billion in fines, all of which was deposited into the national treasury. As reported by Express Tribune.

According to official data, enforcement increased by 44% compared to 2024, with over 1,300 traffic wardens deployed across the city and around 3,257 cases were registered for serious violations. During the year, 328,000 driving licences were also issued in 2025.

Driving without a valid licence topped the list of violations, with over 213,000 challans, while motorcyclists remained the most penalised, receiving more than 653,000 tickets. Helmet-related violations accounted for 204,000 challans, though authorities reported helmet compliance improving to 88% after targeted campaigns.

Traffic officials said fatal road accidents declined during the year, despite motorcyclists continuing to dominate crash statistics.

To further strengthen enforcement, an e-challan system linked to the Command and Control Centre was launched, supported by over 2,100 smart cameras installed across Rawalpindi.
