Big Move for Faisalabad as 100 E-Bus Shelters Get Approved - Carr.pk

Faisalabad’s Divisional Development Working Party approved 100 electric bus shelters and told contractors to finish 40 shelters by January 10, 2026, as the city pushes to upgrade its transit system.

The approval came during a DDWP meeting, chaired by Faisalabad Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar, which brought together Deputy Commissioner Captain Nadeem Nasir (retd), Additional Commissioners Tanveer Murtaza and Asif Iqbal Chohan, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Malik Murtaza, Deputy Director Development Syed Naveed Iqbal, SS Highways, and other officials.

According to the Tribune, Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar directed teams to run construction in three shifts and warned that he will not tolerate delays.

Officials say the project will add modern, weather-protected waiting points for commuters on two major routes at an estimated cost of Rs140 million, aligning with Punjab’s plan to promote cleaner, electric transport.

Anwar said he will personally monitor the shelter work and cited strict directions from the Punjab chief minister to complete the initiative on time. In a parallel move to tighten service delivery, officials also launched a Monitoring Cell under “Hello Faisalabad,” appointing two monitors from each tehsil to report field issues to the commissioner’s office for faster fixes.
