2025 Auto Price Wars: Big Cuts from Top Brands to Stay Competitive
2025 was a massive year for the auto industry. We saw a mix of everything, e.g, new local and imported cars, facelifts, and fresh reveals. Of course, more cars mean more competition, and to stay in the game, some brands had to swallow a bitter pill and actually lower their prices.
And we aren’t talking about limited-time sales; these were permanent cuts.
As we approach year-end, here is a look at the brands that announced permanent price reductions (not just limited-time offers) to stay competitive.
Kia Sportage L Price Drop
First on the list is the price drop from KIA. On April 30th, they cut the price of the Sportage L variants by up to Rs. 1,850,000.
This happened because of stiff competition from other Korean and Chinese brands. Those rivals were offering the same features at much better prices. That pressure pushed KIA to rethink its pricing strategy and lower its rates.

Rs. 10 Lacs Drop in GuGo BOX
On April 11th, Dongfeng launched its BOX EV (internationally known as the Nammi 01). The catch? GuGo was already selling the Nammi 01 with the same name here as well.
To make things spicier, Dongfeng priced its top-spec version lower than GuGo’s. And to counter that, just a few days later, they swallowed the bitter pill and slashed the prices of its BOX by Rs. 1,050,000.
Now, the tables have turned, and the GuGo BOX is actually the cheaper option. You can check our previous blogs for a complete comparison of prices and specs.
Jaw-Dropping Price Drops on BMWs (Up to Rs. 4 Crore!)
The 2025-26 budget brought some massive relief when the government reduced the Regulatory Duty (RD) on imported cars by up to 40%. Dewan Motors, the official importer for BMW in Pakistan, didn’t hold back—they passed those savings straight to the customer.
The biggest headline was the M4 Competition, which saw a massive price cut of Rs. 40,440,000. But it wasn’t just the M4; the entire lineup saw reductions ranging from tens of lakhs to crores. To see exactly how much each model dropped, check out our previous blog on this topic.
Toyota’s Land Cruiser Price Cut
Similar to Dewan, Toyota also reduced the prices of its imported CBU models, namely the LC 250 and 300. The company, on the same day as Dewan, announced a price cut of up to Rs. 2.5 crore. Again, for detailed pricing cuts on all the variants and models, read the previous blog.
MG’s Price Drop on EV Lineup
On September 18th, MG announced a Rs. 13 lakh drop in the pricing of the four and ZS EV models. We can’t pinpoint the exact reason for the drop, but our analysis is that Chinese EV brands in Pakistan offered better value for money, prompting MG to rethink its pricing strategy. Toyota Fortuner’s Rs. 25 Lakh Drop
Toyota recently cut prices on the Fortuner G and V (petrol variants) by up to Rs. 25 lacs. In a competitive market, the diesel Fortuner remains a favorite thanks to its turbo-diesel engine, which no locally assembled SUV offers.
However, the petrol models need a boost to keep up with the competition. That’s why Toyota lowered the prices of its petrol variants. Check out our blog on this topic for the exact cuts on the G and V variants.
