Another Major Sindh District Gets Faceless E-Tracking, Tough Fines
The faceless e-tracks system has officially started operating on the recently widened Autobahn road in Hyderabad, bringing heavier fines for several traffic violations.
The faceless e-tracks system is part of a broader plan to shift the city toward automated traffic enforcement.
Speaking at a press conference, DIG Hyderabad Tariq Razzak Dharejo said the government aims to expand e-ticketing to all major roads of the city by April 2026. He was accompanied by Commissioner Hyderabad Fayaz Hussain Abbassi and other senior officers.
The DIG said the system will also be introduced in other districts of the Hyderabad Police Range within the next 10 days. He added that traffic enforcement across Hyderabad and nearby districts has been connected to a central system in Karachi, allowing automatic generation and issuance of tickets.
“Hyderabad is a large city with frequent traffic violations, so we adopted a phased plan,” Dharejo said. He confirmed that more than 60 cameras have already been installed on Autobahn and Hyderabad–Mirpurkhas Road. He also revealed that the Safe City project for Hyderabad has been approved, and work on it will begin soon.
A police committee has been formed to help citizens report technical errors or incorrect fines.
Under the new e-tracking setup, 18 types of violations will be fined. The lowest penalty is Rs2,000 for motorbike wrong parking. Heavy transport vehicles face the highest penalty of Rs100,000 for one-way violations, unnecessary honking, or driving without registration.
