Another Punjab District to Get Electric Bus Service
The Punjab Transport Company has announced the launch of a Jhelum electric bus service starting December 18, 2025, as part of the Chief Minister’s Green Initiative. This new service is designed to offer eco-friendly public transport and help reduce environmental pollution in the city.
The electric buses will run on several key routes in Jhelum, including Fauji Foundation Hospital to Sanghoi, Thalianwala to Fauji Mill Ground, and Dina to Mangla. Passengers will benefit from a flat fare of Rs. 20, making it both affordable and sustainable.
Officials said the initiative is part of the Punjab government’s efforts to expand sustainable public transport and provide cleaner energy solutions. “This service will make daily commuting in Jhelum easier while supporting environmental protection,” said a spokesperson from the Punjab Transport Company.
