CCD Gets Rs.1 Billion Worth of Land Cruisers and Pickups
The newly established Crime Control Department (CCD) is set to receive a fleet of 118 new vehicles to boost its operational capacity across Punjab, a department official told 24NewsHD TV channel.
Officials report that 10 Toyota Land Cruisers have been purchased for CCD senior officials. Additionally, eight double-cabin and 100 single-cabin vehicles have been purchased. Earlier this year, the Punjab government announced a significant budget allocation of over Rs. 2 billion to enhance the CCD’s operational readiness, enabling the purchase of these 118 vehicles.
The provision of new cars will be completed in January, and the existing old vehicles will be reallocated to their respective units and districts.
Officials added that these vehicles will be made bulletproof in phases before they are provided, thus significantly improving operational efficiency and capability across Punjab.
