Changan Unveils AVATR 11 in Pakistan | The Long Range Luxury EV Powered by Huawei Technology
If you recall, Master Changan brought the Deepal to Pakistan last year with two models, S07 and L07. That was their first major step into the upper segment of the electric market.
Just as they did with Deepal, Changan is now following up with another EV brand, AVATR, as we reported last month.
Make sure not to confuse AVATR with Deepal. Even though both are electric sub-brands of Changan, they are quite different. Although both are electric sub-brands of Changan, they target different customers. AVATR is the group’s high-end luxury brand, while Deepal focuses on the tech-loving mainstream market.
For now, the company is introducing this new brand in Pakistan today with the unveiling of its first model, the AVATR 11. This specific model actually has a lot of history behind it, because the “11” was also the very first vehicle the brand ever launched globally back in August 2022.
What Is AVATR, First of All?
Usually, we don’t write this, but this car offers phenomenal features that deserve a spotlight. For many consumers, AVATR may be a new name, for us as well. But not anymore!
After browsing online, we discovered that AVATR is Changan’s flagship EV brand, designed to compete with many established German brands. Developed in a high-profile joint venture with Huawei and CATL, the world’s leading battery manufacturer, AVATR focuses on bringing cutting-edge features and technology to the market that stand out from the competition.
Impressive, Worth-Mentioning Highlights
Design is AVATR 11’s most awesome aspect.
The company told us the AVATR cars, including the 11, were designed under Nader Faghihzadeh’s leadership, an Iranian-German designer who previously worked at BMW. He is the top man behind the BMW 7 Series and 6 Series designs.
In terms of performance, AVATR 11 comes with a 116.79 kWh battery pack, quite large for a mid-size SUV, offering an impressive NEDC range of 680 km or around 578 km under the WLTP standard. This makes it perfect for long trips; for example, a one-way journey from Lahore to Islamabad is easily achievable on a single charge.
Power-wise, the variant launching here is a Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) setup. It produces 308 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque.
Oh! And Huawei’s technological prowess takes it to another level. The vehicle is built on the CHN (Changan + Huawei + CATL) architecture and features Huawei’s proprietary DriveONE iTRACK 800V system, enabling high-speed charging. If you can find a supercharger, you can add 200 km of range in just 10 minutes.
On the interior side, this is where the “Ultra-Luxury” claim really shines. The cabin is wrapped in Nappa leather with Suede roof lining and features three screens: a 10.25” driver’s screen, a massive 15.6” central screen, and a 10.25” separate passenger screen. It also packs a 25-speaker Meridian sound system, similar to what you find in top-tier German options.
Price of the AVATR 11
This is the most awaited part, the price. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t revealed the price yet, but we’ll update as soon as they share the price or booking information for this car.
