Changan’s Design Chief Hints at Upcoming Flagship Car

After establishing a strong presence in the Asian market, Changan has now entered the UK and is already planning something big to build its brand image across Europe.

In a recent interview with AutoCar, Klaus Zyciora, Changan’s design head (who previously designed Volkswagen’s ID electric cars), dropped a major hint. When asked if Changan plans to build a “dream machine” or a flagship sports car, he replied: “Yes. Wait and see.”

What could it be? While he didn’t share specific details, the new car might be based on the sporty VIIA concept from 2023. It would likely launch under their Deepal sub-brand, which is focused on younger buyers and performance cars.

Design Philosophy Zyciora also explained Changan’s approach to design. He wants to balance innovation with beauty. His goal is to make cars that look unique and attractive to global buyers without being “weird” or taking crazy risks that could scare customers away.
