Hyundai May Beat GWM Tank 500 to Pakistan, Set to Launch Flagship Palisade SUV First

LAHORE —As per our insiders, Hyundai is reportedly preparing to launch its flagship Palisade SUV in Pakistan, potentially before the much-anticipated GWM Tank 500 which is expected to arrive in market in early 2026. 

Sources have indicated that while the Tank 500  (in HEV/PHEV variants) is expected to begin local assembly by early 2026, Hyundai is already finalizing the paperwork and logistics for the Palisade’s arrival, which could give it a first-mover advantage in the growing premium SUV segment.

The Palisade, Hyundai’s flagship  7-seater SUV, offers seating for up to eight passengers and could offer Pakistani buyers a new, high-end alternative in the market if it arrives as expected.

Meanwhile, the Tank 500 remains one of the most discussed incoming SUVs in Pakistan. Sazgar, the local assembler, has confirmed that the Tank 500, including HEV/PHEV variants, will be available in Pakistan by March 2026 at the latest.

If Hyundai does manage to launch the Palisade first, it could shift buyer interest in the premium SUV segment and change the competitive dynamics in the market. All eyes are now on Hyundai’s local distributor for an official announcement.
