The CPEC Orange Line Metro Train celebrated its fifth anniversary of successful operation with a grand ceremony held at the project’s Head Office in Harbanspura, Lahore.

The event marked five years of safe, efficient, and uninterrupted service under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), reflecting the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren praised the Orange Line Metro Train’s smooth operations and lauded it as a symbol of professional partnership and mutual investment.

He emphasized that the project was not merely a gift but a shared commitment to improving public welfare and reducing environmental pollution. Orange Line CEO Tan Zidong highlighted the team’s resilience in maintaining continuous service despite challenges such as power outages and political unrest.

The event also featured an award ceremony recognizing key contributors to the project’s success. A commemorative plaque was unveiled to celebrate the Orange Line’s milestone of carrying 270 million passengers. The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting event, representing unity and progress in Pakistan’s first electric metro system.
