Hilux, You’ve Got Company, Deepal K50 Hunter Brings REEV Power to Pakistan
Deepal has just unveiled its all-new K50 Hunter pickup, set to launch in Pakistan soon. What makes it truly special? It’s not only the company’s first-ever pickup in Pakistan, taking on popular models in the market, but also the world’s first mass-produced REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) pickup.
Built on a rugged body-on-frame chassis, the K50 Hunter can handle everything you expect from a pickup, from off-roading adventures to heavy-load hauling, proving it’s as capable as it is groundbreaking.
What’s a REEV Powertrain?
In the REEV powertrain, both the engine and electric motors work together, and the battery can be charged externally or via the engine, much like a plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
However, unlike traditional PHEVs, in a REEV the electric motor alone drives the wheels, while the engine serves solely as a generator to charge the battery.
Although Deepal has not yet revealed the official pricing for the K50 Hunter, expectations are high that it will be competitively priced compared to other popular models in the segment.
