Dense Fog Causes Multi-Vehicle Crash in Pattoki, Motorway Police Issue Safety Cautions - Carr.pk

A dense fog blanketed the roads near Pattoki, leading to a multi-vehicle collision early Monday morning. The reduced visibility led to several vehicles crashing into one another.

Motorway Police swiftly responded to the scene, helping rescue teams rush the injured to nearby hospitals. Thankfully, no fatalities have been reported, though several individuals suffered injuries, and the vehicles sustained significant damage.

The dense fog that caused the accident wasn’t isolated to Pattoki. Thick fog affected much of Punjab and Sindh, severely impacting road traffic. As a precaution, NHMP frequently closes the motorways for safety due to poor visibility.

In light of these dangerous conditions, Motorway Police have urged drivers to exercise extreme caution when traveling in fog. They advised:

  • Use fog lights to enhance visibility in thick fog.
  • Drive slowly in low visibility to ensure you can stop safely when needed.
  • Maintain a safe distance from other vehicles to prevent collisions.
  • It’s best to travel during daylight hours when visibility improves.
  • Follow lane discipline to avoid accidents and ensure smooth traffic flow.

Travelers are encouraged to stay informed by checking real-time updates from the National Highway & Motorway Police (NHMP). You can visit their official travel advisory page and view live conditions using the Travel Advisory Map.

Motorway Police also encourage travelers to call the helpline at 130 for any assistance while on the road.
