Dense fog has severely disrupted travel across central Pakistan, forcing authorities to temporarily shut down several key motorways to prevent accidents and ensure public safety. Motorists have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel and strictly follow safety advisories.

• M-2: Lahore to Balkassar — Closed
• M-11: Lahore to Sialkot — Closed
• M-3: Faizpur to Rajana — Closed
• M-3 (Heavy Traffic): Faizpur to Darkhana — Closed
• M-4: Pindi Bhattian to Gojra — Closed
• M-4 (Heavy Traffic): Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakim — Closed
According to a Central Region spokesperson, the closures are a precautionary measure to protect lives and property. The official warned that poor lane discipline in foggy conditions significantly increases the risk of serious accidents.
Fog Situation on National Highways:
Dense fog has been reported in Lahore, Manga Mandi, Phool Nagar, Pattoki, Renala Khurd, Okara, Sahiwal, Iqbal Nagar, Kaswal, and Mian Channu, with visibility dropping to as low as 0–100 meters in several areas.
Travel Advisory for Motorists:
• Strictly observe lane discipline
• Prefer daytime travel between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM
• Use fog lights at all times
• Maintain safe following distances and avoid overspeeding
