Dongfeng VIGO Review: Affordable, Stylish, and City-Ready EV - Carr.pk

Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) market is gaining momentum in 2026, and Chawla Green Motors is leading the charge with its latest launch: the Dongfeng Nammi 06, locally branded as the Dongfeng VIGO.

As a B-segment crossover, the VIGO currently ranks as Pakistan’s most affordable electric SUV, targeting urban commuters seeking modern features without breaking the bank.

You can watch the full first-look video review here.

Pricing and Affordability

In a market where EVs often come with a premium price tag, the Dongfeng VIGO introduces a competitive entry point. Chawla Green Motors has announced introductory pricing for two variants:

Variant Price (PKR)
E1 (Base) 6,999,000
E2 (Top) 7,499,000

Note: These are limited-time introductory prices and are expected to increase in the future.

Performance and Range: Reality vs. Claims

The VIGO is powered by a 44.5 kWh (approx. 45 kWh) battery producing 230 Nm of torque. While manufacturers often use different standards for range, here is how the Dongfeng VIGO stacks up:

  • CLTC (Chinese Standard): 430 km
  • Practical/EPA Estimate: Approx. 300+ km in real-world Pakistani driving conditions
  • Top Speed: 150 km/h
  • Charging: Supports both AC and DC charging. Using an industrial DC charger, it can charge from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

The vehicle also features three driving modes: Eco, Comfort, and Sport, allowing drivers to prioritize either efficiency or performance.

Bold, Non-Conventional Design

The VIGO draws inspiration from luxury heavyweights. You’ll notice a boot divider inspired by Range Rover and a front-end aesthetic reminiscent of the Kia EV9.

Exterior Features

It boasts through-and-through LED lighting, 17-inch wheels (alloys on the top variant), and “semi-concealed” door handles that pop open with a button, a unique middle ground between traditional handles and fully motorized ones.

The “Vigo” Twist

While the name “Vigo” usually brings trucks to mind in Pakistan, this car features a unique trunk setup with 500 liters of capacity, plus additional hidden storage compartments of 70L and 72L.

A Tech-Forward Interior

Stepping inside feels like entering a “sky lounge”. The cabin is finished in a welcoming cream/beige palette (with a darker option also available) and features dynamic ambient lighting that can sync with your music.

  • Dual Screens: A 12.8-inch infotainment screen (supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) is paired with an 8.8-inch information cluster.
  • Luxury Touches: The driver’s seat is a 6-way auto-adjustable memory seat that is both heated and ventilated.
  • V2L Technology: The car supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), meaning you can use your car as a giant power bank to run electric devices.

Safety and Practicality

Despite being a compact B-segment crossover, the VIGO offers surprising legroom and a flat rear floor, making it comfortable for four to five passengers. Safety is a high priority, featuring:

  • 6 Airbags
  • 540-degree Camera (providing a clear view including the area “under” the car)
  • ADAS Suite: Includes Forward Collision Warning, Emergency Brake Assist, Lane Warning Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition.

Final Verdict

The Dongfeng VIGO is a strong contender for those looking to switch to electric without spending eight figures. While its real-world range of approx. 300 km makes it primarily an “urban mobility” vehicle, its premium features and aggressive pricing make it hard to ignore.
