Driving License Delayed? KPK Chief Minister Issues Strict New Orders
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has ordered the Transport Department to complete the printing and distribution of over 117,000 pending driving licenses within 30 days. Following this directive, the department has issued a strict district-wise schedule to ensure the deadline is met without delay.
Moreover, CM KPK, Sohail Afridi, emphasized that the timely provision of public services is a top priority for the current administration, stating that no negligence would be tolerated in meeting these deadlines.
Distribution Schedule by Division:
The department has outlined the following timeline for the completion of the backlog across various divisions:
- Hazara Division: Printing and distribution are expected to be completed during the first week of January 2026.
- Malakand Division: Licenses for Swat, Dir, and Buner will be provided by mid-January 2026.
- Peshawar Division: Delivery of pending cards is scheduled to take place between January 23 and January 26, 2026.
- Kohat Division: Distribution is expected to be finalized by January 29, 2026.
- Bannu, Mardan, and D.I. Khan Divisions: The process for these regions is slated for completion by January 30, 2026.
