Electric Bus Service Launched in Gujar Khan Today, Routes Announced - Carr.pk

The Punjab govt has officially inaugurated the Gujar Khan Green Bus Service, introducing modern, eco-friendly public transport to the district.

The service has started with 15 electric buses running on two main routes, one connecting Gujar Khan to Rawat and onward to Rawalpindi, and the other linking Gujar Khan to Sohawa and onward to Rawalpindi.

Passengers will pay a fare of Rs. 20, while women, students, and senior citizens over 60 can travel for free, providing significant relief to daily commuters. Authorities confirmed that the fleet will expand to 40 or more buses in the near future, increasing coverage and convenience across Gujar Khan.

The launch is part of Punjab’s broader initiative to modernize public transport, reduce traffic congestion, and promote sustainable travel options. The Green Bus Service is expected to particularly benefit women, elders, and students, offering safe, affordable, and socially inclusive commuting.
