40 Exclusive Plates Featuring Tribal and Regional Names

The upcoming auction will feature 40 distinctive registration marks, many of which highlight cultural identity, tribal lineage, and regional pride.

Prominent names included in the auction are Dawar, Hoti, Shinwari, Waziristan, Mehsud, Jadoon, Marwat, Khattak, Qadri, Pashtun, Sheikh, Khyber, Raja and Awan, which are already witnessing strong demand.

These names have gained immense popularity in previous auctions, with plates like “Wazir 1” recently selling for a record Rs 1.5 crore. Read the full story here.

Reserve Price and Registration Details

Each plate in this round has a reserve price of Rs.1 million. Interested participants must complete advance registration and follow all KP Excise Department guidelines.

The auction aims to capitalize on rising interest in personalized registration numbers while generating non-tax revenue for the province.

High Demand Drives Repeat Auction

This second auction, announced just weeks after the last one, reflects growing demand from car collectors, affluent motorists, and cultural enthusiasts. Plates with symbolic or familial significance have proven especially popular, leading to fierce bidding and high revenue.

Why It Matters

The surge in popularity of custom number plates signals a cultural shift in how identity is expressed through vehicles in Pakistan. By aligning these auctions with regional heritage, KP’s Excise Department has found a good avenue for both civic engagement and revenue enhancement.
