Ferrari Changes Forever With Its First EV
Ferrari has officially announced its first battery-electric production model, the Ferrari Luce, marking a landmark shift for the Italian sports car maker historically known for high-revving petrol engines. The Luce name, meaning “light” in Italian, underscores the brand’s new focus on electrification while retaining its performance DNA.

Built in Maranello, Italy, the Luce is set to begin production in 2026 on a bespoke 880-volt electric platform developed by Ferrari. This quad-motor, all-wheel-drive model is designed to deliver both high performance and usable range for everyday driving.
Innovative Interior Signals Design Shift
Ferrari has revealed the Luce’s interior in advance of the full exterior reveal scheduled for May 2026. The cabin reflects a unique approach compared to other EVs, blending physical tactile controls with digital displays to minimise driver distraction.

This design was co-created with LoveFrom, the creative collective led by former Apple designer Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson, known for their minimalist yet functional design language.
Performance and Platform Highlights
According to early technical details, the Luce is expected to leverage Ferrari’s in-house electric powertrain engineering to balance performance with range. Battery capacity is estimated at around 122 kWh, supporting more than 320 miles of range in typical driving conditions.
Ferrari’s bespoke electric architecture aims to preserve handling and driving engagement even as the brand transitions to electrified mobility.
This first EV is part of a broader product push by Ferrari in 2026, with multiple new models also expected to debut throughout the year, including both conventional internal combustion and hybrid variants.
What’s Next
While the Luce’s interior and core technical elements are now public, Ferrari will reveal the full exterior design in May 2026 and confirm pricing and performance specifications closer to production start.
Enthusiasts and potential buyers should follow official updates from Ferrari’s website and automotive news outlets for launch details.
