Fiscal Year Nears End, Rawalpindi Development Authority Has not Started Road Projects - Carr.pk

Eight months into the current fiscal year, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has yet to launch any of its approved road and infrastructure projects, raising concerns over the authority’s execution capacity.

Officials confirm that while several development schemes, particularly those linked to roads and urban infrastructure, were approved earlier, none have moved into the implementation phase.

No tenders have been issued, and physical work on the projects has not started, even as the financial year approaches its final quarter.

The delay has sparked worries that allocated development funds could lapse if the projects are not initiated soon. Internal reviews and official meetings have attributed the delay to procedural and administrative challenges, though no firm timeline for project commencement has been provided.

Experts note that development authorities like RDA are expected to complete projects within the fiscal year to ensure timely utilization of funds, especially for critical road and infrastructure projects.
