Free Wi-Fi Suspended at Lahore Railway Station
Lahore Railway Station’s free Wi-Fi service has reportedly been suspended after railway officials allegedly failed to pay the internet service provider, leaving passengers without access.
QR codes promoting the service remain displayed across the station, confusing commuters who continue attempting to connect. Many expressed frustration at the disruption, especially as trains frequently experience delays.
Sources revealed that the private company managing the service withdrew its equipment after outstanding payments were not cleared. The Wi-Fi devices, previously installed at the station’s main entrance and on platforms two and four, have been removed.
The free Wi-Fi initiative was launched under the direction of Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi at major railway stations, including Lahore and Karachi, to provide internet access to travelers.
