Google Maps Rolls Out Auto-Parking Spot Save Feature for iPhone Users
In a long-awaited update, Google Maps has introduced a game-changing feature for iPhone users, which is the automatic parking spot saving.
As of December 2025, the app will now detect when you disconnect your iPhone from your car’s Bluetooth, USB, or CarPlay connection and will automatically drop a pin at your parking spot.
The senior product manager of Google Maps, Rio Akasaka, on LinkedIn, calls it “ personal arking maps velvet!”

The best part? The pin stays for up to 48 hours and automatically disappears as soon as you start driving again, keeping your map clutter-free. Plus, if you’ve customized your Google Maps profile with a car icon, that will appear instead of the usual “P.”

However, there’s a catch: this feature is currently available only for iOS users. Android fans will have to wait a little longer, as they still need to manually save their parking spot for now.
