Govt Announces Strict Vehicle Checks on Motorways - Carr.pk

Following a fatal accident on the M-9 Motorway, Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has announced a new rule requiring strict safety checks for all vehicles entering motorways.

The minister has directed the Inspector General of Motorway Police to investigate the accident and submit a detailed report. In a statement, Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized that no vehicle with worn-out, weak, or expired tires will be allowed on national highways and motorways. All vehicles, including private and commercial, must undergo thorough fitness inspections before entering motorway routes.

The minister instructed motorway police to implement prescribed safety standards rigorously, highlighting that both commercial transport and private vehicles must comply. He stressed that proper enforcement of vehicle fitness checks, especially tire conditions, is crucial to preventing similar accidents in the future.

Expressing sorrow over the tragic loss of lives, Abdul Aleem Khan extended condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for strength and patience for those affected by the incident.
