Govt Releases Rs.1 Billion for Electric Bus Depots and Stops in Punjab

The government has begun taking steps to promote eco-friendly transport in urban areas, including Lahore.

In this regard, a grant of more than one billion rupees has been approved for the Punjab Transport Company for the renovation of electric-bus depots and bus stops across the province, including Lahore.

Funds amounting to one billion rupees have been released for the establishment of bus stops and e-depots for electric buses. The Punjab government has also finalized a plan for launching electric buses in various cities.

On the request of the Transport Secretary, the Punjab cabinet approved the summary. Approval has also been granted to start electric bus services soon in all cities of Punjab.
