How CDA Plans to Reduce Congestion at Kashmir Chowk - Carr.pk

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a traffic management study at Kashmir Chowk to address chronic congestion.

Heavy traffic and unregulated vehicle movement have turned the signal-free junction into a major bottleneck.

The CDA has invited consultancy firms to submit proposals for detailed traffic and engineering assessments.

The consultants will study vehicle flow, road capacity, pedestrian movement, public transport operations, and safety issues.

They will recommend short-term and long-term solutions, including options like an underpass, flyover, or other grade-separated facilities. Other recommendations may focus on geometric road improvements and access management.

The plan excludes signal-based interventions.

CDA officials said the study aims to create sustainable traffic solutions that reduce travel delays and improve mobility at this key Islamabad intersection.

The CDA will implement proposals in phases after technical evaluation, approvals, and funding.
