Hyundai Palisade Launch: What We Know So Far - Carr.pk

Hyundai has confirmed the upcoming launch of the Palisade in Pakistan. The notable aspect of this development is not simply the introduction of the vehicle, but that Pakistan will be the first country outside South Korea, the manufacturer’s home market, to locally assemble the current-generation Palisade.

This development is a positive indicator for the local automotive market, suggesting a shift in which the Pakistani market receives newer global models concurrently, or even before, other regions.

A similar trend was observed with the Haval H6 PHEV facelift, launched in April last year. Pakistan was the first country after Australia to receive the facelifted model, launching it even before several other Asian markets, including Indonesia and Thailand.

Hyundai Palisade: The Brand’s Three-Row Flagship

The Hyundai Palisade falls into the mid-size SUV segment. It’s a unibody chassis and is categorized as a three-row family SUV, seating either 8 or 7 people, depending on the middle-row configuration:

  • 8-seater if the middle row uses standard seats
  • 7-seater if the middle row uses captain’s chairs ( two individual seats)

The vehicle competes in the E-segment of the SUV market, targeting consumers who require a large, family-oriented vehicle with substantial cargo space and flagship-level driving dynamics and features.

Internationally, the Palisade is widely available across multiple regions. Its current sales footprint includes:

  • North America: USA and Canada
  • Asia: Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore
  • Middle East: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman
  • Oceania: Australia and New Zealand

In almost all of these markets, the Palisade is sold purely as an imported (CBU) unit. The only exceptions in this list are Indonesia and Vietnam, which maintain local assembly operations strictly for the older generation, rather than for the current generation, which is sold internationally and is coming to Pakistan.

Expected Variant: 2.5-Liter Turbo Hybrid

Internationally, there are two powertrain options, 2.5-liter Turbo and a top-spec 2.5-liter Turbo Hybrid. While the official local specifications have not been publicly detailed by Hyundai Nishat, our estimate is that the Pakistani variant will feature the 2.5-liter Turbo Hybrid option.

Based on international data for this specific configuration, the highlighted specs are as follows:
