2026 Hyundai Staria in Malaysia now gets floor centre console in place of front middle seat, no price change

UPDATE: Story updated with photos and additional details.

To jog your memory, seven-seat versions of the Malaysian-market Hyundai Staria have a fixed floor centre console (with a sliding lid and illuminated STARIA script) between the front seats, while 10-seat versions had a middle seat whose backrest folds down to give you two cupholders, two phone slots and an open storage tray. It has been so from the Sime Darby era through the Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) era to the local assembly (CKD) era.

Well, the 10-seater now gets the centre console from the seven-seater to replace its middle seat, except it omits the illuminated STARIA script and the two USB ports on the back have been changed from Type A to Type C. Just like before, the console incorporates a removable cupholder, a retractable cupholder, a storage box and a drawer tray. No price change – the Staria is still RM179,888-267,888 – and of course, the vehicle’s been CKD since October.

Comparing our photos of the seven-seater between the Sime Darby and HMY eras, we also noticed that the felt-lined surround at the top of the centre console (bottom-right pic below), which was there when the Premium was first launched in 2021, is now gone.
