Islamabad Crime Spike Hits Car Owners Hard - Carr.pk

Islamabad’s streets turned into an auto thief’s playground last week, with the capital city logging over 60 crime incidents, a startling number of which were tied to vehicle theft and car snatching, according to data compiled by Business Recorder.

Police records show that of these more than 60 reported crimes, 32 were carjacking cases, a mix of cars and motorbikes taken from unsuspecting owners across the city’s sectors.

Thieves were particularly active in areas under the jurisdiction of Khanna, Shalimar, Tarnol, Aabpara, and Karachi Company police stations.

In total, the week’s tally of stolen vehicles included five cars and around 30 motorbikes.

Incident reports detail how auto thieves struck repeatedly: four motorbikes were stolen in Aabpara, another four in Tarnol, and similar theft patterns cropped up across multiple zones.

One car was taken from the Koral area, while motorbike thefts were also reported in Shalimar and Karachi Company limits.

These theft figures put a spotlight on vehicle security in the city and underline an urgent need for motorists to tighten safeguards.

Islamabad residents are being urged to stay vigilant, lock vehicles securely, and use tracking devices or secure parking where possible to prevent becoming the next victim of car theft.

Community awareness and cooperation with local police can make carjacking and theft far less appealing for criminals.
