Islamabad to Get a New Interchange for Smoother Commutes
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to build a new interchange connecting Sector I-16 with Srinagar Highway. This project, part of the Islamabad Master Plan, aims to improve traffic flow and provide smoother travel for residents.
Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, told the National Assembly that the interchange will be developed at the junction of 17th Avenue and Srinagar Highway. The CDA is also working on developing Sector H-16, along with a service road linking Sectors H-16 and H-17, which will be part of this project.
The minister added that 16th Avenue, located between Sectors H-15 and H-16, will be built according to the Master Plan. The exact number of interchanges and underpasses on 16th Avenue will be decided after the detailed design is finalized.
According to Senator Naqvi, avenues across Islamabad are planned to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow. Construction on 10th Avenue is already underway to enhance mobility within the capital.
