JAC T9 Levels Up: New Aussie Trims Hint at What Pakistan Could Get Next - Carr.pk

China’s JAC Motors has added new versions of its T9 pickup truck in Australia for the 2026 model year. The brand is trying to compete more directly with popular Australian pickup trucks, such as the Toyota Hilux, by offering more choices and sharper pricing.

The new line-up now includes an entry-level “Oasis” (chassis-cab) intended for commercial purposes, as well as two better-equipped models called “Osprey” and “Osprey X”. The Oasis starts from about AU$41,162 before on-road costs. At the same time, the Osprey and Osprey X are priced at around AU$46,629 and AU$47,079, respectively.

All versions of the T9 use the same 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine (same as in Pakistan) that makes 410 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive with low range and a locking rear differential.

The Oasis model offers a payload of around 1,165 kg. The upper trim models have slightly lower payloads but are aimed more at private buyers who want both work ability and family use.

Despite its lower price compared to many rivals, the T9 still offers a decent feature set. These include a touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus modern safety systems such as autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control on higher trims.

JAC T9 Growing Strong in Pakistan Too

JAC isn’t only challenging the Hilux in Australia; the T9 is also a strong contender in Pakistan. With a budget of PKR 1.1 crore, it offers some of the best value for money, helping boost Ghandhara Motors’ success.

After FRISON 2X, a 4×2 variant of T9, Ghandhara has also confirmed that it plans to launch another new T9 trim in Pakistan for the 2026 model year, though details of the upcoming variant are not known.
