JAECOO to Increase J7 PHEV’s Price – Is Deepal Next with S05?
Last month, Nishat Motors launched the all-new JAECOO J7 PHEV in Pakistan, a locally assembled plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) SUV. During the launch, the company announced an ex-factory price of Rs. 9,999,000. However, as reported, this price was offered as an introductory price, valid only until November 30th.
In a social media post by OMODA & JAECOO Pakistan, the company announced that, starting December 1st, the ex-factory price of the JAECOO J7 PHEV will increase by Rs. 500,000, bringing the new price to Rs. 10,499,000.
The Competition Heats Up: Deepal S05 at Rs. 9,999,000
What’s particularly interesting is the competition the J7 PHEV is facing. Just 10 days after the J7’s launch, Deepal launched its S05 at the same ex-factory price of Rs. 9,999,000. The timing of the S05’s launch seemed intentional, as Deepal clearly aimed to compete head-to-head with the JAECOO J7 PHEV in the growing hybrid SUV market.
With JAECOO’s price increase now official, the question arises: will Deepal follow suit and raise S05’s price as well? It’s because, like the J7, Deepal has positioned the S05’s initial price as an “introductory offer,” suggesting it may change after the offer period ends.
What’s Next for the Deepal S05?
So far, Deepal has not announced any changes to the S05’s pricing. Given the competitive landscape, they may adjust the price in response to JAECOO’s move. Whether the price increase will be as significant as JAECOO’s Rs. 500,000 hike or a decrease to make it more competitive, it remains to be seen.
As the S05 introductory period continues, potential buyers should keep an eye out for any official updates from Deepal on the vehicle’s pricing. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and bring you the latest information as soon as it becomes available.
