Karachi Women Get Their Own Buses on Green Line - Carr.pk

A new route of Karachi’s Pink Bus Service will start operating from November 17, linking Abdullah Chowk to Numaish. The service is meant to give women a safer and easier way to travel in the city, especially during busy hours.

Provincial Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon shared the schedule on Saturday. He said the women-only buses will run at three fixed times every day: 8am to 9am, 1pm to 2pm, and 5pm to 7pm.

He explained that the Pink Bus Service is designed to focus on women’s comfort and safety. According to him, many women face trouble in daily travel due to overcrowded buses, and this service aims to reduce those difficulties.

The minister said the buses are equipped with security features, tracking systems, and trained staff. He added that the Sindh Government plans to expand the service to more areas in the coming months.

Sharjeel said the government wants to make travel safer so women can move freely for work, studies, and other needs. He called the project an important step toward creating a safer environment for women in Karachi.
