Karachi Relocates Major Bus Terminal, Launches 50 Free Shuttles for 10 Locations

Karachi has long faced traffic congestion due to city bus stands in central areas.

To address this, the Sindh Transport Department moved all major bus terminals to the new Karachi Bus Terminal in Sohrab Goth.

The govt launched a free shuttle service to help passengers reach the terminal from key city locations.

Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the shuttles operate from spots like Cantonment Railway Station, M.A. Jinnah Road, and Al-Karam Square.

Officials said the move aims to reduce inner-city traffic, improve commuter convenience, and enhance road safety.

This initiative is part of a broader plan to modernize public transport in Karachi, including future double-decker and electric buses.
