Karachi Women Get Their Own Buses on Green Line
Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon officially launched Pink Buses on the Green Line track in Karachi at Numaish Chowrangi. These buses are specifically reserved for women passengers, marking a first in Pakistan’s public transport system.
The project aims to provide safer and more comfortable travel for women across the city.
Speaking at the event, Minister Sharjeel Memon said, “For the first time in Pakistan, a bus service is dedicated to women. The Pink Buses have received a positive response since their launch. We also plan to introduce Pink Buses on the Orange Line soon. We will fix a ratio to ensure that every bus service has women-only buses, including electric buses.”
