Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday inspected the long-delayed BRT Red Line Karachi project, stretching from Malir Cantonment to Numaish, and instructed authorities to speed up construction.

The CM emphasized that development projects must be completed quickly while minimizing inconvenience to citizens.

During his citywide inspection, Mr Shah also reviewed other major infrastructure projects, including Shahrah-i-Bhutto, Korangi Causeway Bridge Junction, Malir River bridges, and the Green Line corridor. He was briefed on delays to the Red Line, citing heavy rains, utility relocation, and design changes.

“The BRT Red Line Karachi will provide fast, safe, and environmentally friendly transport, transforming daily commuting for residents,” the CM said.

He further directed departments and contractors to enhance coordination, monitoring, and use of smart management tools to ensure timely completion with high-quality standards.

The CM also visited the Korangi Causeway Bridge and the N-5 Malir River bridge, highlighting their importance in reducing traffic congestion during the monsoon season.
