KIA Sorento Hybrid Testing in India? Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Sorento Owners Are Smiling.
A camouflaged unit of the new Kia Sorento Hybrid has been spotted in India, as reported by RushLane. The sighting took place inside a parking facility, where the heavily covered test vehicle was photographed.

According to the report, the SUV carried full-body camouflage but displayed several identifiable design elements.
The vehicle featured large alloy wheels, an upright silhouette, and a three-row SUV profile. The rear appeared wide with a flat tailgate, and the front grille area remained completely concealed under the wraps.
Inside, the test mule showed a rotary-style gear selector, which RushLane notes is commonly associated with hybrid powertrains in Kia vehicles.
The cabin images also indicated a clean layout consistent with current-generation Kia interiors.
The exterior design, despite the camouflage, showed boxy proportions, squared wheel arches, and styling cues aligned with the Sorento’s global design language.
Reports suggest that the global model offers multiple powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, and hybrid configurations. They also state that the India-spotted model aligns with the hybrid version based on visible components.
What This Means for Pakistan?
Since the Sorento is already on Pakistani roads, the India sighting doesn’t hint at a new launch here, but it does signal something important: Kia is actively developing and updating the Sorento for the South Asian region.
This means the model isn’t being phased out globally any time soon, which is good news for Pakistani owners and potential buyers worried about long-term support, parts availability, or model relevance.
In simple terms: if Kia is testing the hybrid Sorento next door, Pakistan’s existing Sorento remains very much alive, supported, and part of the regional product roadmap.
