KTM Rawang Park & Ride now open – one week free parking from today; RM3.18 for 3 hours, RM5.30 max
Good news for Rawang folks. The KTM Rawang station’s Park & Ride facility is finally open. You’ve seen the multi-storey carpark completed and lit up for some time now – finally, you’ll be able to use it.
Even better, Railway Assets Corporation (RAC) is offering one week of free parking that starts today. The FOC period is from February 9-15, and they’ll start charging from February 16.
Speaking of charges, RAC has revealed the parking rates, which start from RM3.18 for the first three hours, or part thereof. Every subsequent hour will be charged RM1.06, but commuters will be happy to know that the maximum charge per day is RM5.30. Motorcycles will be charged RM1.06 per entry and OKUs park for free. Prices are inclusive of SST.
There’s a free 15 minutes grace period where you won’t be charged anything. Note that this carpark, operated by Park Assist Asia, is a cashless one that accepts Visa/Mastercard cards and Touch n Go cards; the latter needs to have a minimum balance of RM10 before being allowed entry.
The old ground level carpark was closed in November 2022 for the construction of this four-storey Park & Ride building. An initiative of the transport ministry, the facility costs RM54 million and has 494 parking lots, including four lots for OKUs, and 104 motorcycle parking lots. The target completion date was November 2025, so it’s just a slight delay.
