Kutchery Chowk Set to Open – Key Updates
The Punjab government has set a new opening date for Rawalpindi’s Kutchery Chowk.
The chowk will open to traffic by April 30, and the team plans to complete structural work before Eidul Fitr.
Punjab Highway Department Executive Engineer Qamar Ali Saqib said that the project is over 45 percent complete.
The Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) is working around the clock to meet the government’s targets.
They have finished guide beam and piling work at Kutchery Chowk and the Jinnah Park underpass. In addition, they have completed about 95 percent of the retaining wall.
Workers continue to build the boundary wall at a fast pace. The team plans to finish road construction in April, after which they will open the chowk to traffic.
For landscaping, the Punjab Highway Department has coordinated with the Rawalpindi Parks and Horticulture Authority.
The authority will start plantation work next month. Officials will release funds for beautification after completing the roads. Moreover, they will plant trees and flowers along flyovers and underpasses.
This project will improve traffic flow and enhance urban aesthetics in Rawalpindi.
