As we reported earlier, the locally assembled Jaecoo J5 will be launched today.

To recap, the J5 is a subcompact hybrid SUV set to arrive at a surprisingly affordable price, undercutting many competitors. A major factor behind this pricing is Nexgen’s local assembly strategy.

Nexgen previously introduced the imported Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J6 EVs to Pakistan. However, the real game-changer came in October with the Jaecoo J7, a locally assembled compact PHEV SUV that the company claims received a strong market response. 

Now, they are following up with the J5. As the name suggests, it sits below the J7 in terms of size, power, and price. Given its price point, it has the potential to be a serious disruptor in the market.
