M-5 Motorway Reopened: Traffic Resumes Between Rahim Yar Khan and Rohri - Carr.pk

Islamabad: The Multan-Sukkur Motorway (M-5) has been fully reopened for traffic, restoring the key connectivity between Rahim Yar Khan and Rohri, according to an official statement from the Motorway Police.

Syed Imran Ahmed, Spokesperson for the Motorway Police, confirmed the development, noting that the closure was lifted following a substantial improvement in visibility across the affected section.

The stretch of the M-5 had been temporarily closed as a precautionary measure due to dangerous levels of low visibility caused by dense seasonal fog. Such closures are standard procedure to prevent multi-vehicle accidents and ensure public safety during the peak fog season.

The reopening is a significant relief for both long-haul transporters and local commuters who had been facing considerable delays and diversions. Motorway authorities have urged all drivers to continue exercising extreme caution, to maintain appropriate speed limits, and to use fog lights correctly, as weather conditions can change rapidly.
