Major Highway Upgrade in Punjab Nears Completion
The Wahga Road Development Project from Quaid-e-Azam Interchange to Wahga Border has achieved a major milestone with civil work now fully completed.
The announcement was made during a meeting chaired by Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Communication and Works, Malik Sohail Ahmad Bhurath, where the progress of the road restoration initiative, announced by the Chief Minister, was reviewed.
Officials confirmed that civil work from BRB Canal to Wahga Border is 100% complete. The RCC drains have been installed, and construction of service roads is actively underway. The left-side service road is about 50% done, while the right-side service road has surpassed 46% completion. Meanwhile, Punjab’s Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is working rapidly on constructing the sewerage drains.

During the meeting, Minister Malik Sohail Ahmad Bhurath directed officials to speed up the project further to ensure timely benefits for the public. He emphasized that the developmental work aligns with the Chief Minister’s vision of completing infrastructure projects promptly for the convenience of citizens.
The project is expected to improve traffic flow, enhance connectivity, and provide a modern road network leading directly to the Wahga Border.
