Malaysia Full Year 2025: Record market for 4th straight time, Perodua Bezza signs 3rd win in a row - Carr.pk

For the 4th year in a row, the Malaysian new car market breaks its volume record, this time up 0.8% to 863,047 units. Local behemoth Perodua (+0.5%) follows its home market to a still splendid 41.7% share, with fellow local Proton (+2.7%) improving to 17.6%. Toyota (+0.9%) and Honda (-12.9%) follow but the latter drops from 10% share in 2024 to 8.6% now. In contrast Chery (+39.4%) is up to #5, BYD (+68.1%) surges to #6 and Jaecoo (+75.6%) does even better and cracks the Top 10 at #8. Further down, Tesla (+41.7%) and Chinese Haval (+360.1%), Jetour (+89266.7%), MG (+81.4%) and Zeekr (+2580%) impress.

Over in the models charts, the Perodua Bezza (-0.3%) scores a third consecutive win but sees its share drop slightly to 11.6%. The Perodua Axia (-4.4%) falls faster but stays at #2 ahead of the Perodua Myvi (+0.7%). The Proton Saga (+1.5%) remains at #4 but ranked #2 in September and October, peaking at 9.7% share in October. In fact the entire Top 6 is identical to 2024 with the Perodua Alza (+2.6%) and Ativa (+7.1%) in tow. Below, the Toyota Vios (+10.8%) and Hilux (+5.2%) leapfrog past the Honda City (-7.3%). The Proton X50 (+16%) closes out the Top 10 like last year. The Jaecoo J7 (+64.9%) leaps 8 spots to #18. The Proton e-MAS 7 is the best-selling 2025 launch and also the #1 BEV in the country.
