Margalla Enclave–Park Road Underpass Construction Begins, Traffic Plan Issued
Construction has officially begun on the Margalla Enclave–Park Road underpass as the Capital Development Authority moves to improve traffic flow in a fast-growing part of Islamabad. As work starts, the Islamabad Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic plan to manage congestion and guide commuters.
During construction, Park Road is likely to experience heavy traffic, especially during peak hours. Therefore, traffic police have introduced multiple diversions to keep vehicles moving. Officials have urged commuters to follow the plan and plan their journeys in advance.
For traffic moving from Rawal Dam Chowk toward Tramri, vehicles will divert through NIH Road. From there, traffic will pass via Mohra Noor before rejoining Park Road. Meanwhile, vehicles traveling from Tramri toward Rawal Dam Chowk will divert near Chai Khana. They will pass through the CDA Nursery and move along the iron grill section. Afterward, traffic will merge back onto Park Road using temporary roads built to ease movement.
In addition, motorists are advised to use alternate routes to avoid delays. These include Lehtrar Road, Khanna Pul, and Islamabad Expressway. Authorities say these routes will reduce pressure on Park Road during rush hours.

Moreover, the Islamabad Traffic Police has advised citizens to add 20 to 30 minutes to their travel time. Commuters should also follow road signs and instructions from traffic officers. Traffic police personnel will remain deployed throughout the area to ensure smooth traffic flow during the construction period.
