MG Launches U9 Pickup Truck in Pakistan with Powerful Diesel Engine
MG has officially launched its first pickup truck in Pakistan, the all-new U9, marking a major shift from its focus on electric and hybrid vehicles.
The U9 stands out by offering a turbocharged diesel engine instead of an EV or hybrid powertrain, giving buyers a strong alternative in Pakistan’s growing pickup market.
The U9 is equipped with a 2.5-liter turbo diesel engine previously available in Australia, making Pakistan the second country to receive this model. This move positions MG to compete directly with popular diesel pickups like the ISUZU D-Max and Toyota Revo.
The U9’s rugged design is built for both city roads and off-road adventures, featuring a 4×4 drivetrain, front and rear differential locks, 3,500 kg towing capacity, and 220 mm ground clearance.
Performance is further enhanced with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission delivering 215 horsepower and 520 Nm torque.
Inside, the pickup combines comfort and technology, including heated, ventilated, and massage driver seats, heated passenger seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with JBL eight-speaker audio, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and advanced safety features like seven airbags and a 540-degree camera system.
