MG Makes Waves at PAPS 2025 with Two Bold Model Reveals
The PAPS 2025 is in full swing in Karachi, with several local automotive brands unveiling their latest upcoming models. Among the major highlights today, MG has revealed two of its most anticipated vehicles: the MG U9 and the Binguo EV.
MG U9 – Diesel Pickup Truck
The MG U9 is a diesel-powered pickup truck that was originally available in Australia. Pakistan is now set to become the second market to receive this model. It features a 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine producing 215 hp and 525 Nm of torque.
In terms of features, the U9 offers a rich technology package, including seven airbags, ADAS, a driver attention monitoring system, JBL speakers, and a 4×4 drivetrain with differential locks.
Unlike traditional pickup trucks that use a ladder-frame chassis, the U9 is built on a unibody platform. It has a wheelbase of 3,300 mm, which is longer than the Toyota Revo’s 3,090 mm wheelbase.
According to initial reports, pre-bookings are expected to start today at PAPS, with deliveries planned for the first quarter of next year. However, the company has not officially confirmed the pre-booking details at the time of publishing.
Binguo EV
The Binguo EV is a subcompact electric hatchback. While it isn’t sold as an MG car internationally, MG is introducing it in Pakistan.
Worldwide, the Binguo is recognized as an entry-level budget EV, yet it comes well-equipped with essential features such as airbags, cruise control, an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED lighting, and, of course, the benefit of low running costs compared to traditional gasoline vehicles.
Pricing and Availability
As of now, the company has not released any official details regarding pricing or pre-bookings for either model. However, it is expected that bookings for the MG U9 pickup will commence soon.
