Murree Traffic Police Introduces Free 24/7 Vehicle Recovery Service
In a significant step to enhance tourist convenience and road safety, the City Traffic Police (CTP) Murree has launched a free, round-the-clock vehicle recovery service.
The initiative aligns with special directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to ensure a “trouble-free” experience for visitors and local residents in the hill station.
Modernizing Road Safety
Under the guidance of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and DIG Traffic Punjab Waqas Nazir, the Murree Traffic Police have been equipped with a fleet of modern recovery vehicles. Chief Traffic Officer Murree, Imran Razaq, announced that any vehicle involved in an accident or mechanical breakdown will be transported free of charge to the nearest workshop.
This service improves road safety and stops dishonest towing operators from overcharging travelers during emergencies.
Assistance for Stranded Tourists
The service was recently utilized by a family from Lahore returning from Ayubia, who experienced a vehicle breakdown on Bariyan Road. They contacted the Traffic Control Room at 051-9269200, and the response included:
- Rapid Deployment: A traffic sergeant arrived within minutes to secure the area.
- Vehicle Recovery: The vehicle was safely transported to a nearby workshop.
- Continued Journey: The family was able to continue their trip without incurring additional private towing charges.
This initiative demonstrates the efforts of the Murree Traffic Police to provide timely assistance and support to travelers in the area.
