Pakistan Launches Its First Homegrown Electric Vehicle Company
Pakistan has taken a major step in local electric mobility with the launch of the country’s first homegrown electric vehicle (EV) company.
The initiative, backed by the govt, aims to produce affordable and sustainable EVs while boosting local manufacturing and job creation.

The company was inaugurated by Provincial Minister for Energy and Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar and MNA Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar at a ceremony held at the SBP e-Library, Nishtar Park Sports Complex.

While the venture is not fully government-owned, it enjoys strong public-sector support and aligns with Pakistan’s broader electrification and renewable energy goals.

The new initiative is expected to help Pakistani consumers reduce fuel costs, cut reliance on imported fuel, and encourage a thriving EV ecosystem.
Industry experts believe the launch could attract further local and foreign investment, accelerate technology transfer, and promote policy-backed EV adoption across Pakistan.
