Passengers Can Now Verify Islamabad Taxi and Bike Drivers Instantly

The initiative was finalized during a high-level meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, focusing on enforcement and implementation of the new digital dashboard.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner East briefed participants on the dashboard’s features, highlighting that passengers can now confirm a driver’s registration and credentials instantly through a QR code.

Taxi and bike services can register via the Islamabad City App, where drivers must enter passengers’ CNIC numbers and trip details before starting a ride.

According to officials, this “one-click verification” system is designed to enhance safety and accountability for both passengers and drivers.

The DC Islamabad emphasized that the move is part of broader efforts to ensure safer travel across the capital. Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against operators who fail to register.

The Islamabad Transport Authority has been instructed to coordinate with taxi service CEOs and crack down on unregistered bike services.

Once registration begins, Islamabad Police will have access to the digital database, and drivers will not be allowed to carry passengers without entering the required travel details on the app.

The administration said the system ensures transparency and protects passengers from unverified operators.
