Perodua Traz – 1,901 units sold in January 2026, bang on monthly target; likely limited by production plan

The road transport department’s (JPJ) latest numbers reveal that 1,901 units of the Perodua Traz were registered last month – bang on Sungai Choh’s 1,900-unit monthly target. This combines with 393 units in December (the SUV was launched in mid-December) to make 2,294 units in total.
The 1,901 units is likely limited by Perodua’s production plan – the carmaker has not revealed Traz booking numbers, so we do not know the extent of demand for the Toyota Yaris Cross twin, but it’s at least more than the monthly target/production plan.
Let’s see if it’s 1,900 units again in February – if it’s lower, that could indicate less-than-healthy demand, and if it’s higher, that could be the result of an upwards adjustment of the production schedule to satisfy demand, although this typically takes time to put in place.
The Traz is bigger than the Ativa but smaller than the Aruz. You can have the RM76k X or the RM82k H – both have a 106 PS/138 Nm 2NR-VE 1.5 litre dual-VVT-i engine and a CVT. Watch our full review above, or if you prefer to read, check out our in-depth launch report.
