Peshawar Choice Plates Auction Draws Record Rs. 47 Crore - Carr.pk

The Excise Department witnessed extraordinary public interest in the auction of choice number plates held in Peshawar, where record bids worth Rs. 47 crore and 3 lakh were received in just one day. A total of 30 unique numbers were included in the auction.

According to details, the highest bid was placed for the number plate “Dawar 1,” which was purchased for Rs. 17 crore and 50 lakh by a citizen named Inzamam-ul-Haq. This was followed by the “Orakzai 1” number plate, which was acquired for Rs. 4 crore and 10 lakh by former senator and MPA Aurangzeb Khan.

Similarly, the “Waziristan 1” number plate was bought by Faiz-ur-Rehman for Rs. 4 crore and 6 lakh, while the “Mohmand 1” plate was sold for Rs. 3 crore and 21 lakh. “Bajaur 1” was purchased by Abbas Shah for Rs. 3 crore and 35 lakh.

According to the Excise Department, this remarkable public participation has made the unique initiative launched by Excise Minister Syed Fakhar Jahan a great success.

The Excise Minister stated, “The public-friendly choice number plate initiative has proven successful due to strong public interest. I congratulate the successful bidders.” He further added that more auctions of preferred plates will be organized in the future according to public demand, and the Excise Department will continue introducing measures based on public facilitation, transparency, and modernization.
