Punjab Announces Date for Re-Registration for Vehicles from Other Provinces

In a major move, the Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department of Punjab has announced that vehicle owners from other provinces can now re-register their vehicles in Punjab.

This step aims to streamline vehicle registration processes and provide greater convenience to residents moving to the province.

Starting February 3, 2026, vehicles previously registered in other provinces or federations can be moved and re-registered in Punjab. Owners will also receive new number plates under Punjab’s registration system. The initiative is expected to reduce administrative hurdles and make the re-registration process more efficient.

According to the Excise Department, this move is part of ongoing efforts to modernize vehicle registration services, ensuring ease and transparency for citizens relocating to Punjab. Vehicle owners are advised to visit the nearest Excise and Taxation Office to complete the re-registration process promptly.
